Welcome to Wrentham
Tribute to Geoffrey Sallows Parish Councillor
who passed away 8th September 2010 aged 81years
Wrentham Village Community has lost a very valued member of our village life with the passing of Geoffrey Sallows.
Geoffrey for the past 43 years was involved with the Parish Council when he was appointed Parish Clerk in 1967 and served in this post for 17 years. He then became a Councillor and continued until he retired in May this year through ill health.
Geoffrey also served on the Old Town Hall management committee representing the Bowls Club, and later became Chairman of the New Village Hall Committee, spearheading fund raising, and the planning of the building of our new Village Hall. Geoffrey also served for 10 years as a Trustee of the Wrentham Parish Charity.
Geoffrey represented the Bowls Club on the bowling green in competitions across the country, serving as secretary and chairman and on the Suffolk Bowls County Executive as a Suffolk County Vice President.
He will be sadly missed.
